Previously unreleased live set that was mixed-down to stereo at the gig. Two songs had been recorded before for their '82 live album "A Reunion". Included are a couple of great slow" tunes, the most extensive one being 'Driftin' Blues' (16:29) with great solos from both brothers, Robben and Mark.

Eins der faszinierendsten Alben der frühen 80er Jahre endlich als CrossCut-CD! Die Charles Ford Band setzte bereits Ende der 60er Jahre Maßtäbe im zeitgenössischen Blues an der Westküste. Mit Robben und Mark hatte sie zwei ausgesprochene Stilisten in ihren Reihen. Leider existierte die Band nur eine kurze Zeitlang und zerbrach, als Robben und Patrick einen Job in der Band von Charlie Musselwhite bekamen. Als 1982 Charles Ford, der Vater der Brüder und Namensgeber starb, organisierte Patrick einige Konzerte als "Reunion". Ein herrliches, swingendes Bluesalbum mit viel Energie, Spielfreude und teils virtuosen Musikern!

The Charles Ford Band, named after their father, was Robben, Patrick, and Mark Ford's original band that produced a lot of attention during the short time that the band existed in the late 60s/early 70s. Robben and Patrick went on to join Charlie Musselwhite's band. When their dad died in '82 Patrick had the idea of getting the band back together for a few shows, at the San Francisco Blues Festival, and at 'Barney Steels' where this live album was recorded. The Charles Ford Band was trendsetting with their hard-drivin' yet swinging blues featuring the great guitar maestro Robben, young harp virtuso Mark and the master of the Californian shuffle, Patrick Ford. One of the greatest blues live albums of the 1980s!
